The next notable milestone occurred in the early nineties when Ted and Marjorie Trefren of Cheyenne, Wyoming, had discussed the idea of erecting a Marian Shrine in Wyoming for many years. After visiting numerous shrines in the Old World, such as Medjugorje, Lourdes, and Fatima, their vision became a reality. Robert Fida was commissioned to design and sculpt the Our Lady of Peace Shrine. The sculpture weighs 180 tons and stands over 30 feet tall, making it one of the largest Marian sculptures in the United States.
